While Julia Child's famous words aren't neccessarily my motto all of the time, lately i've been making a concerted effort to eat foods that I generally avoid, and steak would be one of those foods. I don't have anything against steak, i'd just rather eat another protein. I saw a cooking show a while back, and I watched as the chef made a demi-glace. I was surprised at how easy it looked, so I found this recipe and tried making it myself. Since I haven't quite mastered the art of cooking steak, I figured it was best left up to my boyfriend. I chimed in to help with the demi-glace and the side salad. The sirloin came out really tender and the demi-glace was nice and savory but not too salty. Turns out steak is tastier than I give it credit for.
